Battery Safety and Certification
Our batteries are independently tested
Every ACX battery pack is tested to UN38.3, the United Nations standard every lithium battery must pass before it can be transported. Testing is done by an independent laboratory, not by us and not by the factory.

How to charge and store safely
Use only the charger supplied with your battery. A charger from another pack can deliver the wrong voltage or current and is the most common cause of battery fires.
Do not charge unattended and do not charge overnight while you are asleep.
Do not charge in a hallway, doorway or stairwell, or anywhere that would block your way out of a building.
Charge on a hard surface, not on a bed, sofa or carpet.
Store the battery somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight and away from anything flammable.
Do not let the battery sit completely flat for weeks. Top it up every month or so if the bike is not in use.
Stop using the battery and contact us if it is swollen, cracked, leaking, unusually hot, smells odd, or has taken a hard impact. Do not charge a damaged battery.
Never open a battery pack or attempt to repair it yourself.
Disposal
Lithium batteries must not go in household waste or general recycling. Take an old pack to a local household waste recycling centre that accepts batteries, or contact us and we will point you to the nearest option.
Shipping
Lithium batteries are classed as dangerous goods for transport. That is why some international orders ship without a battery, and why there are a few destinations we cannot send batteries to at all. Email us before ordering from outside the UK and we will confirm what we can send to your address.
